Ambulance Services in Rajasthan – Untangling Emergencies

The ambulance service sector has been witnessing a lot of chaos as well as new implementations. The sector being divided state wise, offers a huge scope for development. Many major states have been trying to implement new infrastructure and method flow to develop the delivery of emergency services. One of the states that has been excelling in the process is Rajasthan. Looking at the recent developments, ambulance services in Rajasthan has been growing at a fast pace. Many public and private institutions have been striving hard to get an integrated emergency response system in place. The whole idea of the process is to provide retrieval and repatriation options for the critically ill cases. Most of these services have been successful in providing availability on 24/7, 365 basis. If we roll back our eyes on the situation that was in 2014. The emergency services in Rajasthan had hit a major roadblock. The revolutionary 108 services had gone off the roads for a good 4 to 5 months. The issue resulted in too many hassles for the ones in medical need in the state. However, with technology booming and new equipment coming into the picture, the situation has improved a lot. Private organizations and big corporate names have also played a big part in the development of the sector. Many big powerhouses have been stepping forward to invest in the medical sector. This development has definitely turned out to be a reprieve for the medical sector in the state. The funds invested through these organizations have been used to build a better logistical protocol and provide better equipment on-board surface ambulances. A decade ago, people were almost unfamiliar with the concept of air ambulances. However, the situation has witnessed a steady growth. Emergency services can be divided into two major sections – Air Ambulances and Surface Ambulances.
Both the sections mentioned above feature a lot of sub-categories. Going into the minute details of both the categories can prove to be a vast process. However, if we just roll our eyes briskly over it, air ambulances cater to emergency evacuations via air vehicles and surface ambulances cater to emergencies via roadways. Here, we would focus on the surface ambulances. Speaking about the surface ambulances, the ambulance services in Rajasthan have been showing growth patterns & quick response. Various services and initiatives in the state has resulted in quick response times in order to fight the high mortality rate. Almost all the ambulances have well-trained medical staff on-board. The influx of funds has also resulted in the installation of state of the art facilities and equipment in the ambulances. Equipment like cardiac monitors, transport ventilators are now present on almost each and every vehicle. In their quest to help the patients in a better way, many institutions that provide these services have also implemented immediate medical care with highly specialized doctors on standby. This process has been highly beneficial in terms of tackling the trauma cases.  These vehicles have been used to cater to a number of emergencies, including cardiac problems, respiratory problems, maternal and neonatal problems, epilepsy, injuries etc. Many institutions have also started to deploy dispatch officers. The main work of these officers is to supervise the whole ambulance dispatching process. A person with expertise can help in cutting down the response time and help the patients in need of emergency attention. Working closely with the dispatch officer is the emergency staff. The air ambulance sector in the state is still in its nascent stage. However, with the state officials pulling some strings to further develop the medical infrastructure, the air ambulance services in Rajasthan will also witness a quick growth in the coming years.
